I co-presented an experience report at the Fall Scrum Gathering recently. The presentation describes how Yahoo! International, and in particular, the Yahoo! I saw this story on does luck trump skill in success? In particular:
In his excellent book, Fooled by Randomness, Nassim Nicholas Taleb argues that throughout life we are always understating the role that luck plays in our fortunes, and overstating the degree that humans determine sequences of events.
He thinks it is a fatal error.
